SIV Training

Build real control and calm confidence with radio-guided drills over water, safety boat support and HD video debriefs.

Why Train SIV at Lake Annecy?

Lake Annecy, France, is one of the world’s top locations for SIV training.

Safe over-water conditions, predictable weather, and the stunning Alpine scenery make it the perfect place to push your limits while staying calm and focused.

What makes our courses unique:

  • Take-offs from Col de la Forclaz – world-renowned launch site with ideal SIV conditions.
  • Flights over water – every maneuver is practiced safely above the lake with full rescue support.
  • Expert instructors – certified pilots with thousands of flight hours and years of teaching experience.
  • Video debriefs after every flight – detailed feedback and personalized analysis to accelerate your learning.

What Is the SIV Course?

SIV (Simulation d’Incident en Vol) is advanced training that allows you to experience and understand wing behaviour in incident-type flight situations, but under controlled conditions, with instructor support via radio and over water.

By participating you will:

  • gain a deep understanding of how your wing behaves in collapses, stalls or spins;
  • learn the right reactions and muscle memory to efficiently handle unexpected events;
  • build trust in your wing, yourself and the sky;
  • raise your flying to the next level of safety, confidence and freedom.

Who Is This Course For?

The course is designed for licensed pilots who are autonomous in take-off and landing — even in calm or no-wind conditions. If you want to understand your wing better, handle tricky situations confidently and upgrade your flying, this is your path.

Equipment & What to Bring

What you should bring:

  • A paraglider in good condition. If you fly a 2-line wing: prior experience with full stalls and asymmetric collapses is required. If you fly a 2.5-line wing, you must have experience with asymmetric collapse and spin. If you don’t meet these criteria, bring a 3-line wing for training.
  • Harness.
  • Reserve parachute (packed within the last 6 months).
  • Certified paragliding helmet and gloves.
  • Reliable and charged radio. (Radio rental available at €10/day.)
